Donna Ulisse was nominated for the 2012 International Bluegrass Music Association Songwriter of the Year. As a daughter of "an Italian father and a redneck mother", Ulisse's roots are steeped in gospel, country and popular music. She began singing with a western swing band when she was still a teen and has grown and developed as a musician and a vocalist over time. Donna will perform at Essenhaus Heritage Hall in Middlebury, Indiana, to provide an evening of live bluegrass entertainment.
Since her early days as an in-demand demo and background singer, the Hampton, Virginia native has been regarded as one of Nashville's most versatile vocal stylists. Her singing quickly earner her a production deal with Atlantic Records. As a talented songwriter, Ulisse has had her songs cut by Claire Lynch, Nu-Blu and the Bankesters.
