9th Annual Cooking Show and Demonstration Event Complimentary to General Public
MIDDLEBURY – A unique event that combines instruction, demonstration, and interaction centered around cooking will be held Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Das Dutchman Essenhaus in Middlebury, Indiana.
The annual event is sponsored by the Essenhaus Village Shops and will be held in the restaurant building on the second floor from 9:00 am until 2:30 pm. No admission is charged and no reservations are accepted for this “open house” formatted event. Guests are encouraged to spend as much time as they choose and will receive cooking tips, demonstrations, food samples, recipes, and door prizes throughout the day. Party ideas and opportunities to interact with local vendors will also be offered. Six local demonstrators will be featured, one being Sherry Kehr, owner and operator of Wakarusa, Indiana based company, “Bread, It’s in the Bag”.
Sherry Gore, editor of the Pinecraft Pauper, Florida’s first Amish newspaper, is also the author of Taste of Pinecraft, which provides readers with a glimpse inside Florida’s Amish culture and kitchens. Sherry is a resident of Sarasota, Florida, and will be on-site from 11:45 am to 2:00 pm to conduct a book signing and discuss her life’s experiences. Ms. Gore will also be featured during a cooking seminar from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
